BOEING Gives Back to The State of Washington to Create Future Boeing Workers

Boeing has allegedly given 6 million US dollars to the state of Washington for educational purposes. Awarding top colleges and nonprofit organizations in the state a sufficient amount of money to better be able to provide in grants for “undeserved students.” Although Boeing is an esteemed company that does the world well, they have a masterplan behind their generous donation.  As stated by the Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and CEO Ray Conner,

“Our hope and goal is that those future jobs will continue to be filled by kids who grow up right here in the state.” Approximated to be total of about 5 million dollars which will be dispersed between over 50 educational institutions across Washington state.

Boeings donation is focusing on the students that aren’t on the path to obtain stem careers and plan to work within the state of Washington. Keeping jobs local and bettering the state’s education is to be accomplished by this act “enhance STEM, workforce training, and educational and career pathway opportunities for students, Boeing said.” (flyingmag) Donating portions through schools throughout Washington but have focused their donations on three main prospects of schools. Beginning with the largest grant starting at 500,000 to the University of Washington. Followed by the relatively large amount of 250,000 to Washington State University and Seattle University being the top three largest grants to be offered to the three major universities. As the majority of Boeings long term employees are to be soon retiring leaving a well-deserved spot open.
