Orbital ATK announced that it has a $16m contract that will replace the four existing rounds with multi-purpose rounds for the Abrams main battle tank. This contract has options of the first phase of development of the 120mm AMP or advanced multi-purpose XM1147 high explosive multi-purpose with a tracer cartridge.


The Walrus-class attack submarines of the Royal Netherlands Navy are 222ft-long and have a submerged speed of 20k with a range of approximately 11,500 miles when cruising at 9k. The 2,765 long-ton, life-extended Walrus subs are set to be replaced by 2025 after being in service since 1990. Saab has entered into an agreement with shipbuilding firm Damen to work together in pursuit of the submarine replacement program for the Netherlands.


On April 14, 2014, L-3 Communications was awarded with a contract valued at approximately $50.9 Million. Awarded by the Department of Defense the contract calls for L-3 Communications, through their Global Security Solutions division, to supply Automated Installation entry hardware and software. Although the location of where will take place is still unknown, the expected completion date has been set to be April 13, 2018.


On July 16, 2014, the manufacturing company, Raytheon Company, was awarded a contract by the United States Army Aviation and Missile Command to upgrade the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. Valued at $235.5 Million, the contract requires Raytheon Company to produce Radar Digital Processor (RDP) kits for the Patriot System. The Patriot system is currently the world’s most up to date air and missile defense system. It provides defense against threats such as aircraft, tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and unmanned aerial vehicles.


Oshkosh is an American manufacture of specialty trucks, military vehicles, and access equipment. They were founded in 1917 to build the first sever-duty four-wheel-drive truck. The first four-wheel-drive truck named Old Betsy is still owned by Oshkosh Corporation. Based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, the company employs around 12,300 people and earned about $8.18 billion in revenue for the 2012 fiscal year.The Oshkosh Access Equipment division produces a variety of boom lifts including: Articulating boom lifts, electric boom lifts, mast-style boom lifts, towable boom lifts, telescopic boom lifts, scissor lifts, vertical personnel lifts, and L trailers.
