On April 14, 2014, L-3 Communications was awarded with a contract valued at approximately $50.9 Million. Awarded by the Department of Defense the contract calls for L-3 Communications, through their Global Security Solutions division, to supply Automated Installation entry hardware and software. Although the location of where will take place is still unknown, the expected completion date has been set to be April 13, 2018.
L-3 Communications Holdings is an American company that supplies command and control, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance systems and products, avionics, ocean products, training devices and services, instrumentation, space, and navigation products. Founded in 1997, L-3 Communications employs over 48,000 and has met revenues of over $12,629.0 Million in yearly revenue and $1,258.0 Million in operating income. The company is named after Frank Lanza, Robert LaPenta, and Lehman Brothers and was created to acquire business from Lockheed Martin.
