National Stock Numbers are identified as a thirteen-digit numeric code. These codes are assigned by the Defense Logistics Agency and their primary role is to provide supplies to the military services and supports their acquisition of weapons, repair parts and other materials. The thirteen-digit numeric code, NSN, identifies all the standardized material items of supply that have been recognized by all the North Atlantic Treaty Organization countries including the United States Department of Defense. The first two digits of the NSN numeric code is referred to as the Federal Supply Group, the first four as the Federal Supply Code and the remaining nine digits of the NSN is referred to as the National Item Identification Number.
At ASAP Semiconductor we understand the importance of knowing which Federal Supply Codes apply to your products in order to register to do business with the government.
