United Rotor-craft Showcases EMS Interior
United Rotorcraft, an industry leading trusted name for aircraft interior configuration, has recently revealed their new emergency medical services (EMS) interior for use on the highly anticipated Bell 505 Jet Ranger X aircraft. This EMS interior offering can be installed in less than half an hour. United Rotor-craft had their interior configuration on display at the HAI Heli-Expo 2016. The interior was showcased on a full-scale mock-up of the 505 aircraft in United Rotor-craft booth.
United Rotorcraft’s EMS interior replaces two of the five seats in the aircraft with a basic litter kit. The interior also features a fluid pan, a locking system, as well as a modular equipment rack. Altogether, the EMS equipped interior allows the aircraft to carry one pilot, one patient, along with two crew members.
The senior director of global marketing and sales for United Rotor-craft, Frank Graham, suggested that the price, weight, and simplicity of the Bell 505 Jet Ranger X were vital factors in play during the development of the interior. The company believes that the cost effective 505 aircraft will make it a great HEMS aircraft for developing countries.
When Bell started to introduce the 505 helicopter, we looked at it and thought it would be an excellent air medical aircraft for developing countries, specifically from the standpoint of price.said Graham. We saw that and said,
They’re going to sell a lot of these, but it’s a JetRanger’ — and JetRangers have historically had challenges [as an EMS aircraft] because they were so small.
