In the first week of May 2015, NATO began its Anti-Submarine Warfare Exercise dubbed DYNAMIC MONGOOSE 2015 (DMON 15).


Announced in March of 2015, Harman International Industries is poised to purchase Bang & Olufsen’s automotive sound-system business. Harman is the US maker of JBL audio equipment. An offer of $156 million USD was made to Bang & Olufsen to purchase B&O’s automotive business as well as the technology license fees. When the offer was made B&O’s stock jumped the most it has jumped in almost 25 years. Stock surged nearly 40 percent to 70 kroner, representing the largest intraday increase since April 1990.Bang & Olufsen will retain its brand and B&O PLAY for their consumer sound products. In the third quarter of 2014, the automotive division of Bang & Olufsen only made $5 million USD.


The tenth San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock was christened on March 21, 2015. The ceremony took place at the Huntington Ingalls Industries’ shipbuilding division visitor control center. In honor of the representative of Pennsylvania’s twelfth congressional district who served from 1974 to 2010, LPD-26 was christened John P. Murtha. Murtha served as a Marine for 37 years. During his time, Murtha earned the Bronze Star with Valor Device, two Purple Hearts, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. LPD-26 is scheduled for delivery to the Navy in 2016. The keel was laid for the final ship, USS Portland (LPD-27) in August 2013 and is currently under construction at Huntington Ingalls Industries.
